Baby Barlow

Welcome to the blog of the Barlow! We wanted to start this site to keep our family and friends informed about the smallest Barlow that should be here in June. I have been keeping a journal for the baby since we found out in October. Here you go:

12/2/08
So much is happening that I don’t want to forget. We are already 10 weeks pregnant so I thought I would start this journal. We found out that we were going to have you 10/20/08. I went to see Dr. Weiss for some labs and I suggested we go ahead and take a pregnancy test since that was possible. Sure enough it was positive! I couldn’t wait to tell your dad. He was born to be a dad and I knew he would be thrilled. That night I made a spaghetti dinner for him and put candles on the table. He was busy staining the deck so was in a hurry to eat. Next to his plate I put this:
God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night, The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle's flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, He called it ... Dad

You are going to be the best baby daddy in the world! I love you more than words can express. On June 29th, 2009 the world will be blessed with another B-low!!!

Love always,

Your baby mama:)

It took your dad several minutes to notice the letter but finally after what seemed to be forever he glanced down at it. He must have just scanned it because his response was, “ that’s nice.” This confirmed my thoughts that he doesn’t always thoroughly read the interesting information I bring home for him. Several minutes later he read it again and realized that it was personalized. He was surprised and very excited. He ran over and hugged me with tears in his eyes. We finished staining the deck that night and began to talk about all of the exciting events that were to come.
