7 weeks

11/12 We had our first appt with Dr. Green at Columbia Regional Hospital. He examined me and we were able to see the first ultrasound. It was amazing to see your little heartbeat just 5 weeks after you were conceived. It was pumping like crazy and we saw your leg and arm buds. You were only the size of a blueberry but already growing so many parts. Your dad asked the lady lot of questions and we were both amazed that you were really there.
Over the next few weeks we began to share the news with family and close friends. Everyone was unbelievably supportive and excited to learn of your arrival. Your Grandma Nina immediately started planning a massive shopping trip. Grandpa Scottie and Rosalyn were thrilled and said several times that we will make great parents. Your Grandpa Monte and Grandma Michelle got teary-eyed and said that he could be more thrilled. We send Grandma Becky a tacky sweatshirt that read “Hot Grandma”. Since she lives in Washington we thought mailing her something would be the next best thing to telling her in person. She screamed and cried! You are due on her 50th birthday which makes it that much more special for her. Lance told Brandon, Melanie and Misty that week also. They are looking forward to finding out if you are a boy or girl. Aunt Misty is already planning on giving you some of Jada’s baby stuff. We told Jada after she noticed your first ultrasound on the fridge. She is 3 ½ now and as sweet and cute as she can be. She immediately told our neighbor Megan that “Anna has a baby in her belly and it is coming out in the summer.” She has been using your room for the last 2 ½ years and we are talking about her exciting move to the big girl guestroom before you arrive. Jada is going to be a wonderful big cousin. We called Uncle Phil, Aunt Jenny and Cousin Graysen last week also. They asked if your dad or I was pregnant. Uncle Phil is a funny guy. Graysen is 7 months old now and will be 14 months old when you are born. We are so excited that you are so close together so you can play when you get older. Aunt Sara was also very excited and Andrew and Aspen are going to be great cousins and babysitters for you. They are planning a trip down to help with your nursery soon. Aspen will be 5 and Andrew 10 when you are born. We also had overwhelming responses from our friends. It is so nice to know that we have support from so many people!!
